Here I am again talking about ‘A Players‘ and why you should have them in your team.
Following my previous article (http://zinigelato.com/who-why-you-need-a-players/) and analyzing the Organisation Cone with its key figure, today it is the day of the Gelato Makers and Head of Production.
Because, if a good smile is your first business card, your Artisan Gelato is what will make you keep your customers.
The Gelato makers are the ones required to produce the best Gelato possible every day following the Company’s philosophy and high standard in terms of quality.
Here are my 4 ‘features’ that a good Gelato Maker should have:
- Clean: Il Laboratorio del Gelato (Gelato Lab) has to be in perfect cleaning condition at any stage of the production
- Well Organised: has to be able to prioritise and determine the perfect production line on a daily basis
- Precise: Gelato making is all about balancing and weighting ingredients
- Fast: that come with experience
It is assumed that need to have a deep knowledge of every single flavors and the ingredients that he/she’s using in order to well communicate with the staff at the counter and keep them posted on: new flavors, new ingredients, allergens to be communicated to the customers, etc
And to conclude, one of the most important characteristics in my opinion is: they have to be genuinely curious and explore and try different flavors, ingredients, techniques everyday. Challenge themselves in order to improve and learn continuously.
